Why I chose this one?
My friend had "My Power M2076w 20000mAh". He said he could charge phones 4 5 times and its really good and praised it a lot. I also liked its look and feel. But turned out it was out of stock and MyPower discontinued it. Instead, MFlow F20 was a upgrade to it and substitute for the M2076w. But it's still available on hamrobazaar:3k, mystore: 3.6k, and brother-mart: 3.9k. I decided to go for newer one and not pick discontinued version.
Trying local product. MyPower is Nepali Brand. Even if they prolly import cheap Chinese product and use their brand, I wanted to give them a shot
3.5k for 20,000 mAh is nice deal really. For comparison, Xiaomi's 10000mAh costs 3.5k in daraz, 5k in official site!
When buying other branded power banks, I have to pay extra just for the brand value. Also with this, no import costs get stacked to the product cost. Lots of saving.
As long as it provides backup, I don't need anything fancy and costly, simple one like this would do.
Possible Cons before purchase:
Since I don't have wireless charging devices, I was not sure if I should go with this one. The more the features, the more chances of things going wrong. Plain power bank could've been a good choice.
Only one USB output port! There are two but pretty sure I am not going to use the Type C output port.
Everyone needs to be extremely wise when buying powerbank. Theres's possibility of things going extremely bad. It could blast, damage devices, burn up, cause fire at home, pocket, bag and even be lethal. With all this, not going for a popular branded is a risk.
First Impressions:
Heating Issue! Both the PowerBank and Charger along with USB cable heats up pretty intensely when fast charging the powerbank with USB Cable.
Plastic Burning Smell near ports.
Build quality is average. Not very sturdy but not fragile either. Not confident enough to do drop tests. Don't have to be extra careful not to break it either.
I contacted MyPower regarding the issue. They were responsive and communicated well. They told:
Wireless charging does heat too much. Thats the case everywhere. With USB charging, it does heat up a little. For the first time, it heats up quite high. Its normal. After that it should settle. If you think yours is heating up abnormally high, test how much backup it gives. When testing, make no scratches so that it could be returned in case it turned out to be damaged piece. The smell is of new device, prolly not burnt plastic. First try discharging the power bank completely and then test after full charging for accurate result.
I said to myself: as long as it gives backup, I could ignore these. Its just going to heat for a while when charging. Ek patak charge garera weeks samma yettikai rakhne ta ho. Too lazy to go through return process. Plus, it can power my raspberry pi for quite long and that will be enough for me.
P.S: Not sure if I got used to it or it has been minimal, but the heating now feels minute and not critical at all.
